Terms of Service

1.The service

LocalMapRanks (“we”, “us”), operated by LocalMapRanks, measures where businesses appear in Google Maps and local search results from points around a location, and turns the results into maps, metrics and reports. The service is for business use and for people 18 or older.

Results show what Google returned at the time of a scan. Google's results change from day to day and by location, so we don't promise that a result will repeat or that any ranking will improve. The service is for information, and we aren't affiliated with Google.

2.Your account

• Give us accurate information and keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity in your account, including by people you invite.
• The account owner controls billing, branding and who has access. Roles are owner, member (can run scans and edit) and viewer (view only).
• One person or business may not create several accounts to collect free trial tokens.
• Tell us promptly at hello@localmapranks.com if you think your account has been accessed without permission.

3.Tokens, plans and payment

Scans use tokens. One token runs one point (spot) of a scan, so a 5 × 5 grid is 25 tokens per keyword and a 7 × 7 grid is 49. Tokens are taken when you start a scan.

• Failed spots are refunded. If we can't check a spot, or a scan fails, the tokens for those spots are returned to your balance automatically.
• Plans give you tokens each month for a monthly fee and renew automatically until you cancel. Token packs are one-off purchases. Tokens don't expire, have no cash value, and can't be transferred or exchanged for money.
• Free trial. New accounts receive 25 trial tokens. We may withdraw trial tokens or close accounts that abuse the offer.
• Prices and taxes. Prices are shown in US dollars on our pricing page and may exclude taxes. We may change prices with notice, and a change applies from your next renewal. Payments are processed by Stripe, which may act as the seller of record and collect taxes; its terms apply to those payments.
• Plan changes. If you upgrade mid-period you receive the additional monthly tokens for that period and Stripe prorates the price difference. Downgrading doesn't remove tokens you already have.

4.Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the Account page. A cancelled plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for and then stops renewing. You keep the tokens you hold.

Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires it, or where we failed to provide the service. If you think you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days and we will review it promptly. Tokens already used on completed scans can't be refunded.

5.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law or use the service to harm others;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service or other accounts;
• scrape, resell or redistribute our data or reports as a competing product, or use the service to build a competing product;
• use automated means to create accounts or abuse free trial tokens;
• misrepresent your identity or your affiliation with a business you track.

6.Your data and reports

You keep ownership of the business information you add and of the reports you export. You give us permission to store and process that information to provide the service to you. Branding you upload (a logo, a name) is used only on your own reports.

We may use anonymous, aggregated information about how the service is used to improve it. We don't use your business data to market to others.

7.Third-party services

The service relies on third parties, including Google (results and sign-in), DataForSEO (search data), Stripe (payments), and our hosting and email providers. We aren't responsible for their services or availability, and their terms may apply to your use of them. Google and Google Maps are trademarks of Google LLC, used here only to describe what the service measures.

8.Our intellectual property

The service, its design, software, text and graphics belong to us or our licensors. We give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your business while your account is in good standing. These terms don't give you any other rights to our trademarks or software.

9.Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that results will be complete or accurate, or that using it will increase your rankings, traffic or revenue.

10.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that gave rise to the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.

11.Indemnity

You agree to defend and compensate us against third-party claims, and related costs, that arise from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the service, to the extent the law allows.

12.Suspension and termination

You can stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms, if we must for legal or security reasons, or if your account is at risk of causing harm. If we end your access without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid plan period. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.

13.Changes to the service and these terms

We may improve, change or discontinue features. We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a new “last updated” date and, for material changes, notify account owners by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

14.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where we are based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before bringing a claim, please contact us at hello@localmapranks.com and give us a chance to resolve it informally.

15.General

These terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the service. If a part of them is unenforceable the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a right isn't a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
